I'm just looking for a basic, generally accepted starting point,
in mounting a wing. (flat carpet, ~150 runline, 19T)
So for simplicity...
the relationship between the leading edge of the wing
and the centerline of the rear wheel.
The height of the leading edge, relative to the high point of the roof
of the car.
angle of attack.
any other comments, are a bonus.

Thanks in advance.

for flat carpet, i mount mine on the rear window... perfectly centered on the body.. usually even withthe top of the roof, and angle should be flat...

you can move the wing forward or back as a tuning aid .. i usually line mine up with the back of the body.. ie it doesnt hang off the back past the body.. it is even with it..

Just like burbs stated. Rear of the wing even with the top of the spoiler, mounted to the rear window, just below roof hight, FLAT.

If you run pinks, run a wing with small side dams (nothing below the main wing) I run Buds wings with side dams bent in, not the glued on ones.

Fast enough for 4th at the ROAR NATS. (only car faster was Arnie)

I like the BRP 5238 wing (sounds like what 'The Jet' was talking about)... remove the upper element (we replace with a small piece of antenna tube to stabilize the side plates)... I mount mine on the rear window, 'flat', but with the front edge of the wing lined up with the back edge of the rear axle (that's about 3/8" forward from what they are describing?)... My car does also have a spoiler, but it's only the molded in spoiler on an old RaceTech Monte Carlo...

thanks for all the tips...

Mike and Den, I may not be there this week....
I appreciate the offers, and will check them out when I see you.

Not being a 19t guy, before I do a lot, I just want to try it out,
as 'basic' (cheap) as I can...
I took an old Bud wing off an old r/c10 and mounted it
on an old body, using most of the suggestions here...

Those DS mounts do look nice, if I did a 19t car, they're pretty tempting.

I use Darkside. The company is awesome, I needed some plastic screws that goes underside of the body...he send it to me no charge. Great customer service. I use either Thunder or Buds Bi-level without the second tier. On the body, level with the roof & flush with the leading edge of the rear spoiler of the car. I will never use another wing mounts other than DARKSIDE.
