I am trying to build a vehicle that has wheels that only spin in one direction--forward. I know there is this device that I can attach to the axle or wheel to allow for the shaft to only spin in one direction and not spin in the other. What is this part called? (I need to know in order to be able to order it online)

Thanks.

If you can figure a way to add a gear to the inner or outer end of the axle shaft with a fixed PAWL (like on a come-along, which keeps the gear from rotating any way but one) you might be able to get away with it. The system would have to be mounted on right and left axle shafts in order to let the wheels turn independantly.

Probably didn't do ya any good at all, but it's a thought. Good luck
