Was afraid of that split in 21.5 and 10.5 been nice to see all those numbers in one class!
Best BRL ever was when their was one class!
It would be nice, and maybe they all will sometime in the future. Three classes would be nice, but the racers are going to make that decision with their participation. But the BRL has never had just one class; that was Allen's event in Springfield with the original 4800 motor.
Even the first year of the league had 13.5, 10.5, and Open Mod.
The next; 17.5, 13.5, 13.5 Truck, 10.5.
This last season; 17.5, 13.5, 21.5, 10.5.

Now we've got 13.5, 21.5, 10.5, 7.5....

PS-For Cincy, I'll run 7.5 and my other car will be setup for either 10.5 or 21.5; depending on how things work out.

Heres a silly question, I remember asking a question about being able to run wings last year in 21.5, and got laughed because thats not what the brl ran, now that the tour is here THANKFULLY now most of the guys that posted here about what classes they will run and some of the guys are choosing to run 10.5/1c. If memory serves correct can't you run a wing and cut the back out. Heres the question, why is it fine now this season with the tour involved to all of a sudden have a class with a wing? I pretty much got rode the riot act about the way racing used to be compared to the way it was last year at the brl. Don't get me wrong I don't mind either way just curious why most have had a change of heart and choosing to run 10.5/1c, I thought it was comparable to 21.5/2c. Anyways so far it lookes like all classes offered are pretty split. Good luck to everybody running in the BRL this year. I'll be running 13.5/ac and trying 10.5/1c at some tracks. Jason

I don't think the wing has a lot to do with the 10.5 class. The BRL was fine with running wings in the mod class only. The 10.5 class is a TOUR class that was added to the BRL because it would let TOUR racers come to the BRL races and have a class. I think the wing might be needed more in the single cell class because the cars are going to be lighter. The 21.5 2c class is fine without the wing. I like the 10.5 class better because I'm going to run 13.5 1c and don't want to have to buy 2 different types of batteries. I can run any of batteries in either car.

Jason, if I had my way 10.5 would be no wing and no cutout too. I just think the car feels racier without the side dams, it would provide visual separation between it and 7.5, and give the car a unique feel. But 1 cell racing is giving the entire country a chance to get together and decide on common rules and go forward with them, so we decided to do our part to unify the hobby. The 21.5 class was always special to the BRL (spec batt, spec motor) so doing something unique with the body made sense (and made a car that drove differently than a 17.5-2c car). The 21.5 class has been very successful this way, and its not going to change for this year.

Like Kelm said, the reason I lean toward running 10.5 instead of 21.5 right now is so that I can do it with the same style battery as I run in 7.5 or 13.5 which I race locally.

I get it MK and CBear3 I was just curious, but the way the voting looks this morning it seems to be evenly split between the two. I'm planning on doing the same as you guys as I've sold all my 2/c stuff except the motors. It makes sense to run just the 1c stuff. Thanks for not bashing me for bringing up that sore subject about spoiler vs wing topic again, it won't happen again. Jason
