Results and Ramblings

Yes you did miss one of the best times ever at any RC Track. Good times, great facility, fast action, delicious food cooked to order, traction and no bugs. OK it wasn't perfect as it was a bit windy and who thought we would be saying "chilly" in June after the spring we've had.

Thank Yous:
SPONSORS !!!! You guys are fantastic!!! Starting with the event Sponsor, none other than Tom Anderson's Ontario Offshore Performance for the great plaques and continuing to the year long companies; Putnam Propulsion, Customer Works, Boca Bearings, Hobico, Tower, Lefthander, Castle Creations, Mad Moose Graphics, Victory R/C Speedway, CR R/C Racers; and the first Nitro challenge brought to yo by Tornado Racing Fuel. Between you all there were plenty of door prizes to match the crowd.

Speaking of Nitro, as Dave indicated, this track was made for speed and begs for the nitro action. Not a huge field, but a quality one that put on a great show. I just home the PA noise over you guys did wake the neighborhood up

Racers one and all for making this what was one of the highest attended outdoor non0Summer Nats event, with 69 total entries after a couple of early drop outs for mechanical and electrical reasons.

Team Baker (Mom, Dad, Bob and adopted one Tom A) for the great track and the prep. It did not disappoint, and the smiles got larger each round as the bite went up and the lap times went down.

Goody's Headache Awards
Usually this is a tough one as more than one racer has a bad incident, but this weeks habds done winner is Bud Denning for the disappointments in both Late Model classes. In the 13.5 he had a tough start, got shuffled back and couldn't recover. But wait, he has to tell his girl friend she can't go home until after midnight because he's on the pole for the 17.5 LM race. So after waiting another 40 minutes he's getting ready to run he has a spur gear issue. At first he thought is was only a mesh issue, so we waited; but it blew completely when lining up.

Winners
Congrats to you all!!! As I always say there were some that were luckier than you, that's all.

EDM 17.5 DODC Sportsman: Alex Obara The local man proved too consistent for the 3 CD R/C racers that took turns trying to run him down.

EDM 17.5 Outlaw Bob B To say the owner was on his game would be an understatement! Although the race I wanted to see between him and his "protege" Dan B didn't materialize due to an early race incident.

EDM 13.5 DODC Keith W Keith had a firm grip on the race track off the ruck and was not seriously threatened all night. Although Scott V was stout he fell victim to motor issue at the 2/3 point and dropped. And I want to thank Steve R for race directing for the 13.5 event so I could have some fun too

Sprint: Michael R was scratching his head until the sun went down, but when it did he put on high speed winged driving lesson!

Late Model 17.5 Josh B
The "Sophomore Sensation" was smooth as glass in this tightly contested division and his ride was on rails the whole night. Way to go big guy!

Late Model 13.5 Mike JAt the line-up it appeared as though this was going to be a close race as the top four were bunched very closely, but Mike used a little luck and track familiarity to pull off the win

Nitro EDM: Dave R.has quickly become a racer to beat no matter where he races and I think he turned a few heads in this event as he took home the checkers in winning style.

Nitro Sprint: Darrin P. For the work Darrin does to help others, especially me on race day by prepping my ride, it was great to see him take home his can of Tornado Racing Fuel. Darrin's car's are always fast, the challenge is fast enough for 4 minutes! great job sir.

Surprises:
Dylan C not in victory lane, what's up with that!!
There's no good place to eat a 2:00 am in this town (lol)
The no-shows, you need to take a serious look at your priorities

Great to See
So many local racers coming out for the event. This is our third trip to the Bakery and by far the best local turnout
The number of DC R/C Racers on this year's tour (I think there were 13 of us!!)

Food for thought
Maybe next year we should change qualifying to the points system; that way great first round runs before the track has full bite are not throw-a-ways.

Once again thank you everyone for your support, we hope you had fun because we want to...

See ya.........in three weeks ......At The Pine Bowl
