here is a custom i have been working on off an on to get to look right of the first issue of the Matchbox Jungle Crawler made to look like it had seen some rough times during the war and once state side it was used and then not well kept. It's based on the Dodge WC-53 Carryall from WWII*










*if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me

Nice weathering on the Crawler, BTTF...:thumbsup:

Here's a comparison of the Dodge WC-53 (top) and the Volvo Sugga. You be the judge as to which 1:1 the Jungle Crawler most resembles...





Kiwi is right that it is probably a bit of both to prevent the paying of licensing fees although in my records I listed it in the "Dodge" section, too...

Yeah 57 the front and finders look to be of the dodge and the body looks to be of the Volvo. As you I call it a dodge just because it looks more like it lol.

The Volvo's rear windows are small, the Dodge's are large like the casting. They probably dropped the split windshield idea to make it easier to cast. The Volvo in the picture doesn't have running boards and is a four-door. Very different IMO.
