I keep seeing all these postings about walmart exclusive cars but how do u know if it is an "exclusive" car? Does it have certain markings? thanks for the info. Im just like most....I love buying these cars for my collection and once in a while it would be nice to find a "special" car to add to it.

There have been Wal Mart cars that had 5 spoke wheels with a red line where as other stores had different wheels or no red line. Brand new in the past few weeks are some WM variants that have a 'Hot Wheels' banner across the top of the windshield. 3 of the latter I know of are the satin blue Honda S2000, the lime green flame VW Brasilia, and the yellow '70 Roadrunner.

I have a red 61 Chevy with a Hot Wheels banner across the windshield that came from Walmart. Is it also a Walmart exclusive?

So I went through some new cars last night and found the Demon w/ the windsheild banner. Also the 67 GTO has it but it has chrome wheels. So these are Wal Mart exclusives?? Ive attached a few other pics from the racing series. They have the red rims but no banner on the windsheild. Thanks guys for all the info!

The ones with the banner are. But the only difference is the banner itself. Other stores have the same car, just no banner. Heck, I saw the heat fleet 2012 lime Brasilia at 2 different Wal Marts and one store had banners and the other didn't. For an example from last year, the heat fleet 2011 blue custom VW Beetle had plain 5 spoke wheels at other stores and red line 5 spokes at Wal Mart. I'm not sure about other wheel differences.

What does that mean? Are they more special than anything else?
Hello , You seem new to collecting or collecting HWs.... If so, here is a few tips about Mattel. Mattel produces enough Cars for everyone who collect them so nothing is too hard to find or obtain. Mattel makes many variations in Cars for different companies like Cereal Brands - Pastry Companies - Costco - Sams Club - Mail ins - ect... To enjoy the hobby its best to buy what you like and forget whats exclusive as you will soon own 1000 to 10,000 Cars and will be looking for another home to store the Cars. Jus my .03c

I'd dash those notions of running around town and scooping them up and planning retirement on them. That's going about the hobby all wrong and you're just going to be disappointed. Just a minor variation that's kind of interesting or to drive completeists mad.

Yeah Ive been collecting since about 1989...not a newbie, but I kept hearing about the Wal Mart deal. As for the wheels, yeah I know they have tons of variations. I usually buy cars that are what I like (as in the pics). I dont buy just to say I have a complete set of 277 cars from that year. I dont need a car that looks like a dinosaur with wheels...lol.
Thanks though for teh info, I appreciate it.

Oh okay.... Wasn't too sure as you came across as you were kinda new to the Walmart HW thing...

Well, Target gets exclusives, K-Mart gets exclusives and TRU... KBToys use yoo but they are no longer. If you want to put your money where it will pay off at the end buy Redlines. :p

Enjoy the Hunt

Yeah I just didnt know the difference aboiut the exclusives. 99.9% of my purchases are for my own enjoyment so I end up not paying much attention to those kind of things other than of course T-Hunts. Thanks again for the info. Hoping to find some cars today.
