Picked up the new Jada "For Sale" series Cadillac & it reminded me of another Cadillac in my collection. The Hot Wheels "Black Box" series Cadillac. What do all of you think....... Same "slightly re-tooled" mold??

wow. I don't think Jada is part of Mattel. Nice catch.
i think they are copied Mattel because they copied the dairy delivery, as far as i think....... :freak:
I think that both diecast makers are trying to make their cars more or less realistic so I would imagine that the castings would have to look somewhat similar. Look at the JL and 100% HW 1970 Boss 429s for example.
I spot a few differences with the bases and the casting in the front around the hood, but only after extreme inspection of your pics. Very sharp thinking there, they are very close, perhaps a double agent in the casting design industry??

I think you're right - since both Jada and Mattel were aiming for the same thing, and probably use similar machines to make the cars, it makes since that the parts breakdown and final pieces would look similar.
Great comparison pics! They do look very similar...wow.
Also notice a difference in the A pillar. but other then that, not much

maybe they are both very accurate represenations of the same car?

Maybe they both did a very good casting the car?
