Clear version make sense for Enterprise C, D and E, and for DS9. Those kits have so many windows it is easier to light up if they are clear. The other ships it does not make as much sense because because there are not as many windows or other items to light up.

Am I the only one here who noticed the image in the upper right hand corner that shows a kit of TOS enterprise box from R2 with the AMTERTL logo???
Also this is the first time I've heard of a clear Reliant as well.

Would someone explain WHY??
I never got the whole **CLEAR** Star Trek thing????

Sounds like a pain..........

Yes it does seem like it would be much harder to deal with seams, not being able to see them until you prime it.

On the other hand, like it's already been said, it makes it much easier for those of us that want to light her up!

I think it's great they gave us a choice! This way the people not interested in lighting are not stuck/forced into buying the clear version.

I didn't see anything on the Round 2 web site about it either. Odd.

I tell ya what, after dealing with little clear parts from old kits.
I'd rather burn out every micro- bit I own than mess witha kit that is made completely out of clear..guys, it's brittle..brittle..and sometimes..it shatters.

Well, if this happens I'm kinda gonna wish I hadn't gotten the regular version. The plastic is an ivory color and there are swirls in it that are visible when you shine a light through - making a nice Raytheon Effect pretty much impossible...

WonderlandModels is in Edinburgh, Scotland. This model's price is 56.99 GBP (british pounds sterling, I think), PLUS a VAT of 47.49 GBP for a total of 104.48 GBP.

That's $168.19 today. I feel sad that this model is so expensive for our UK brothers!

Interesting, though, the ad reads as if the model is there, or has been available for a while, as they are offering a discount on it.
