Ok everyone...do the Sulu Dance!

This is my rendition of AMT's EXCELSIOR kit. I painted the inside of the clear plastic using automotive laquer in rattle cans. The front is a metalic silver blue, followed by a medium metallic blue, followed by black. Overall, it's a nice look of power changing to create the warp effect.

I still can't believe I got those tiny red stripes on there.

Top view shows off the engine paint job.

Out of my entire collection, this is probably the best Star Trek painted model I ever built.

One of the things that bugged me about the kit's decal sheet is that the secondary hull pennants and arrowhead were big enough to be seen from orbit.... that's the only reason I never did the only AMT Excelsior I built as the Excelsior. I used an aftermarket sheet that had a selection of names (half Galaxy/Nebula, the other half Excelsior class) and I chose the USS Gorkon. She still doesn't look too bad, but I think she needs an overhaul. I'll have to pull her out of storage and snap some pics.

Your build still looks great, Trevor!! :)
