Two 07 Camaro Concept WIP's
I was really disapointed when I saw Chevy's 07 Camaro. From the side it looked pretty darn good. Then like a babe with a knock out body and killer face she smiled with a mouth full of rotten teeth. :freak: I just don't like the grill work at all. It looks like a stupid grin. imo.
Before the 07 came out there was a challenge on another board to draw our impression of what the 07 Camaro should look like if it were left up to the participants. Oddly the rear of the real car looked much like what I'd designed. However I went with a highly modified 70 front. I like that big mouth. Must be some personality parallel
. Though I have a 70 casting around here somewhere it has been misplaced during the move. The other day I found a HW's casting of a 75'ish Camaro in Wally's. Though not exactly what I wanted, its close. I'll probably find the 70 casting around the time I finish this one. There'll be a few changes to the front of this one to bring it more in line with what I want. But hopefully it'll come out OK with a bit of whittling, filing, filling & sanding.
The one in the back works more with what Chevy gave me to play with. I opened up the grill making it taller and wider. In looking at the profile the front fenders look short in comparison to the rest of the body. I'm gonna seperate the fenders at the door line and extend them about 1/8 of an inch. I know this doesn't sound like much but visually it makes all the difference in the world. I can see this one being painted that "Emerald Green" possibly a black vynal top with some white "SS" stripes.....Or maybe they were "RS" stripes.....The ones that went around the grill and back down the fenders.
