After adding the LeMans package, consisting of a tuned straight pipe and a combo rear brake vent / cool box induction system, (concept used on the old Austin Healey 100/M) Torpedo still couldn't get but 187 mph out of it through the running mile. He made several attempts at 190; entering "four corners" faster each time. This consistantly increased his trap time at the state line at the end of Buffalo Ch Rd. He felt like he could have hit 190 but they don't call it "Church Road" for nothin'. After church the NC Troopers were out so bad even "Torpedo" didn't want to go back out.

Did get several shots though.

Church Road...

Amen, brother, I'm sure he couldda hit a buck-ninety!
Yeah. Down here if the road leads to a church that's what they name the road. There's always traffic between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Sunday around here. Then again between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM for evening services. Troopers set up a check point at the end of the driveway today.......No...Really.
