Toy Cars and Models ,Scale Auto and other rags always have upcoming events towards the back of the pages. Go to any bookstore, pick one up and copy down some local places and dates.
This is a good idea. Also, the promoter's phone number is usually listed and you can call them to get more info. Also, if you know of any dealers or collectables shops in your area, they usually know about all of the shows.

Fleabay has put many, many of the local shows out of business.

Hi there elsies66. I sent you an e-mail. We have a local Hot Wheels club that meets every month if that will help. I included the info about the club in the e-mail. PM me or send me an e-mail if I can help.

In the Detroit area, weekend shows (sports cards, toys, Hot Wheels, stamps, coins, etc.) are usually posted in the Wednesday edition of the newspaper in the sports section, then again on Saturday.
