Tonkin Replicas started in 1970 making promotional Freightliner models for Consolidated Freightways.
In 1972, they were licensed by Kenworth to make Kenworth truck models.
In 1974 they added Peterbilt.
Freightliner & Volvo followed in 1976.
In 1978, Navistar was added.
And in 1980 they added Caterpillar.
In 2003, they bought the AHL & PEM diecast production lines from Hartoy.
