Has anyone ever tried taking a 1/10 scale tire and cutting it and making a 1/18 scale tire? What kind of glue would possibly hold up and actually hold the tire together as i balloons under acceleration? My reason behind this is because i'd like to try different compounds of tires but none available for 1/18 scale....Any help would be great

There was a guy who made adapters to allow you to fit a 1/12 front on a 1/18 scale AE. It was essentially a knurled rod with a slot that was pressed into a 1/12 front tire.

Don't know what your running for a 1/18 scale car but I ran a Losi LM for a few seasons ended up buying bearing that had the OD to fit the 10th front pan car BSR tires but had the ID to fit the axel of the mini. As for the rears did pretty much the same thing just make an aluminum adaptor that I would glue into the rim so it would set on the drive pin of the rear axel. Hope that helps......

That was me. Well, I suppose you could mean someone else, but I did make such things. Your description is approximately correct.

For my Mini Slider, I also made different axles in 3/16" diameter to replace the standard ones so I could use 1/12th scale foams on the front. The adapters for the RC18T ended up giving the wrong offset if you attempted to use 1/12th tires on the rear of a 2WD Mini-T but someone bought a couple of those adapters and used 1/10th pan car fronts on the rear of a Mini-Late-Model for a better result.

PM me if you want some of those adapters.

What compunds would be best for a hard packed dirt oval. Its rough on tires and is often times slick with not much bite. What 1/12 wheels and tires do i need to get to fit the mini late model and use those adapters? Thanks
