Working on a 116 Dolmar chainsaw. It;s an old one. Has a Tilloson carb that the parts book say's is a HK series. I went to the Tillotson web site but cannot find a service manual for this series.

My question is this. The choke on this carb is a twist choke. Twist the lever one way the rod moves in. Turn the other way the rod moves out. The carb does not have a choke butterfly. As the rod moves in or out it covers or uncovers some holes in the side of the carb. When the rod is in against the spring, is the choke on or off? I need to know how to properly alighn the choke linkage so it matches the diagram of choke off or on. This is something new to me, so I hope I explained it well enough for someone to understand.

Thanks for all the help.
