I'm getting ready to head out the door for my annual Winter trek to Arizona - I'll be back by Jan 10th.

I need to thank Gary Hamilton for getting us a New LOCATION to be able to set up the carpet that is roughly an HOUR closer to L.A.

This should be our HOME for CARPET in '10! We'll know more FOR SURE after the WARM UP!

The So-Cal area got it's first test of 1 cell OVAL last Sunday @ Hot Rod's - sounds like the 17.5 single cell class may be a HOOT!

and while on Vacation in AZ, I stopped by "HUMPTY'S" current home track and watched some of the locals getting a New Years weekend practice session...

The SRS Oval in Scottsdale is a nice little track too.

we may be planning THUNDER in the DESERT II really soon...

Hey guys,

It sounds like we're gonna have a pretty decent turnout in TAFT this Saturday for our first of what should be many oval races at the Lincoln Jr. High School.

Although I'm still a little unsure of who is planning to run what - there seems to be a lot of interest in the actual race day.

Possibilities include

17.5 / 1 cell (regular stock car)
13.5 / 1 cell (w/ COT BODIES for the snowbirds)
10.5 / 1 cell (regular stock car)
7.5 / 1 cell (regular stock car)

21.5 / 2 cell (stock car bodied)
21.5 / 2 cell (NASTRUCK) SNOWBIRDS - OPEN BATTERY
21.5 / 2 cell (NASTRUCK) SWT

"WINGLESS" Sprint - Dirt Cars (unknown motor/battery combo?)

anything else???

ONE CELL CLASSES WILL BE 4 minute?? (17.5 would/could be 5 min)?

Reminder: TRINITY Sticky Fingers is the ONLY Approved Tire Traction Compound for TAFT, and should be available at the track.

There WILL be limited practice available on Friday evening -
Doors should be opened by 7 a.m. on Saturday Morn.

Hopefully this race will answer many questions several racers (and myself) have about what's what for the 2010 season, along with helping guys get ready for the SNOWBIRD NATIONALS in Sunny (but FREEZING COLD ) Florida!!

RACE RESULTS

VERY NICE DAY of RACING...and got to see a lot of NEW Cars

HAMILTON, STEENHOVEN, BLACKBURN - the NEW KSG Ride
PETITCLERC - the NEW STRYKER DL Car
SKINNER - the NEW CeFX car
HUMPTY and COLLINS - I have no clue what they were running in the HD camp - but they too were FAST

The track rolls out at about 160 ft - roughly 90 x 48 (I think a bit wider than the birds layout.)

I'll add some pics of the new location for the West Coast's carpet racing..asap
