Mattel has literally killed the brand.
All I see at the matchbox pegs are generic trucks, generic off-roaders, generic emergencies with "creative" graphics but absolutely no cars...
I'm still on the look out for the blue mini cooper converitble which is nowhere to find.

I'm not one bit excited over the Matchbox line any more. I really do not like the busy tampos.

Matchbox's allure has always been realism for me as well.

I hope it doesn't last long---please go back to the less gaudy paint jobs.

I don`t mind some mb being this way for my kids however they are starting to have nothing else to buy. The latest release having the ZR1 with white tires is just a joke. They need to get back to making decent cars as their castings are great usually

they actually have a lot of potential. For one example,the corvette ZR1. I don`t even collect these cars in any brand however mb did such a great job with this car I actually have them in my collection.IMO,they did this casting better than anyone

Yes I agree, the older iterations of that casting are great, but not the 2012 versions.

The only model I plan, right now, on buying is the Ford Explorer Interceptor...but I'm a Ford guy.

I feel the same way. Matchbox has gotten less than $10 from me this year, and won't be getting any more. In fact, these days I don't bother perusing the die-cast aisles at all.

:freak: I am totaly on Board with what all of the naw sayers are saying. I have totly lost intrest in MB I mean I would spend big money one the latest lines, but lately the line is STRAIGHT GARBAGE. I mean I would not even buy any of whats out there for a 4yr. old let alone something that I would put in my collection. O well guess I have to pull out the old cases and remember on paradise and times lost.

I actually bought a handful of Matchbox today. I like the new Crop Duster model, and couldn't believe they already did a recolor of it. I bought the new 4x4 Chevy and the sister truck the 4x4 Dodge.
