The Invaders Saucer

This kit has always been a favorite of mine since I was a kiddo.
However, the Invaders Saucer poses a conundrum. With the exception of the forward control room, the rest of the interior seems to be purely conjectural on Aurora’s part.
What I attempted to do was my own idea of making sense of the upper deck. The interior was only seen on screen 3 times throughout the series. The control room seems to have been designed around the 1st season episode, “The Innocent”. I based my model on that with the addition of the 3 stalls which were seen on-screen there. In order to provide enough space for these stall, it was necessary to eliminate the vestibule in the middle of the ship. (I didn’t think it made sense anyway)
The second season episode, “The Saucer” introduces a circular hatch presumably leading to the lower deck. This was clearly located in the small room adjacent to the control room and I decided to add this as well.
For the rest of the interior, I simply did what Aurora did nearly 60 years ago – I made it up! I thought it would be logical to include regeneration stations in the large aft compartment along with the devise whose top resembles a tomato cage. The rear walls were simply kit-bashed.

Very well done build! I like your interior much better than the original.
Did you use 3D printing for some parts?
And I'm just curious, which kit is it? The original Aurora kit or one of the later re-pops?
Not that it really matters, they are all the same kit. I think the latest Atlantis release includes the
clear top again.

"The Invaders" was a very well done show but sadly too short lived.

Some fans consider the later show UFO from England to be the spiritual follow on to "The Invaders".
Roy Thinnes went from Invaders to Gerry Anderson's "Journey To the Far Side Of The Sun" and then
Anderson produced "UFO" just after.

Thanks for posting! And welcome to Hobby Talk!

Thank you Mach7.
I love this show too. Prior to building this model my wife & I binged on the whole series which prompted this build.
This was the recent Atlantis kit with clear parts.
No 3D printing here, just old school scratch building. I used the kit's inside walls but I had to lengthen them slightly since I eliminated the central vestibule.
I also added thin plastic over the original walls to simulate the pocket doors.
All in all, a very enjoyable build.
