This kit has always been a favorite of mine since I was a kiddo.
However, the Invaders Saucer poses a conundrum. With the exception of the forward control room, the rest of the interior seems to be purely conjectural on Aurora’s part.
What I attempted to do was my own idea of making sense of the upper deck. The interior was only seen on screen 3 times throughout the series. The control room seems to have been designed around the 1st season episode, “The Innocent”. I based my model on that with the addition of the 3 stalls which were seen on-screen there. In order to provide enough space for these stall, it was necessary to eliminate the vestibule in the middle of the ship. (I didn’t think it made sense anyway)
The second season episode, “The Saucer” introduces a circular hatch presumably leading to the lower deck. This was clearly located in the small room adjacent to the control room and I decided to add this as well.
For the rest of the interior, I simply did what Aurora did nearly 60 years ago – I made it up! I thought it would be logical to include regeneration stations in the large aft compartment along with the devise whose top resembles a tomato cage. The rear walls were simply kit-bashed.
