Brilliant! Though I found it interesting that Chris Eccelston's doctor had what looked like a normal house key in the first season episode Father's Day.

Then in the second season episode Impossible Planet, I had to wonder why David Tennant's doctor did not use the key to recall the TARDIS after it sank into the planet.

But I suppose these questions are OT.

Nice key!

Finished it.. here are comparison pics.
The one on the left is the pewter collectible one, the one on the right is mine and is made from scrap styrene, some CA (superglue.. for the odd shaped bits) and silver rustoleum paint.

I might do another one some rainy day :) I rather enjoyed making this one.

as for the keys used on screen.. I can only clearly recall seeing this key used once (though I may be totally off and I have yet to see any of the new episodes) and that was in the FOX tv movie with Paul McGann... and Eric Roberts was the master :p

im working on a tardis key myself. (althoough now ive misplaced it during the move). i used screencaps from the 1995 movie (gotta love power dvd) as my reference.

the key was originally a plain old key. it wasnt until pertwee that it changed to the special prop key. it has changed through the years in proportion.
