We race pretty much all year too.

Summer is THE BEST time for racing - the weather is nice outside, fresh air, hanging with buds...good times - now WINTER STORAGE - store in a Warm Dry place !!

RC racing for us folks up north is just to keep us sane when the big cars can't race.

I'd just unload all of my springs off the car so they don't get squished down from being on the car all summer.

Also make sure you didn't leave a battery fully charged and didn't race it. Discharge it about 1/3 of the way.
