I believe in luck. Good luck, bad luck, burst into lamenting Hee-Haw undertones, whatever. And sometimes I actually make my own. Not charms or voodoo dolls, just a simple harmless ritual. Simple games on the computer, which I interpret as a barometer on exactly how attentive I am, and how my day might be going. For example...

I wake up, boot up, and fire up a simple computer card game, like Solitaire. If I win, I continue to another, such as Spider Solitaire. If I win that, I go on to Freecell. The results tell me what my near future could bring. 3 Wins, and I figure I'm on a roll, so I should go out and try hunting for cars. Three losses, and I change the cat box.

Yesterday morning, I aced the games with not only wins but good scores. Nearly 6000 in Solitaire, and mid-90's on Spider single with no hints, etc... Feeling a bit lucky, or at least alert enough to drive, I jumped into the Owlmobile, dropped the top, and headed down to the nearest TRU, hoping to find those new 10 car packs. None of those in yet, but I did find a lonely Universal Monsters '33 Delivery with white rims/tires hidden behind some PT Cruisers, a good 5 rows over from the rest of the UM's. Ha! Lucky me! (although I don't care for the graphics on the regular sets of these, I can't resist a WL version, and the fact that I have to build a new case to display it :))

Luck holding, I then went to Walmart to buy more cat litter, and found a Hot Rod Mag '82 Camaro with white interior. Wasn't sure 'til I compared it with another one. Very cool! Brought my new finds home (along with a nice regular Porsche and a BWF Nash Metro)

This morning, I can't win Solitaire to save my life. Better stay home...

GREAT entertaining story OWL, and congrats on your 2 finds!

When I find a WL and start to feel that luck your talking about, I'm usually brought back to reality when the cashier gives that car the 90 mile an hour fastball into the bag and damages the card!:p

Famous old song there Zeb :) I've noticed My usual Ritual is to be depressed before I check my local Wm pegs, that way I'm not cusing mad when I don't even find the lastest and greatest release. :)

Heh,heh... Just got back from a trip out after winning 3 games, shortly after my last post. :D

Nailed another Hot Rods Mag '82 Camaro WL, plus found a BWF Skyline (regular) and got a pair of 55 car racks (the ones that hold Hot Wheels, or in my case, JL Red Card Series) for 10 bucks each on clearance at Walmart.

What a world...

man, not only does Owl live; Location: The Beach..., but he can also get up, play with the computer then go off to do some diecast hunting!
now I'm really jealous! ...maybe I ned to move back to the afternoon shift...hmmm...
..but on the real topic, I have this weird "luck" thing when it comes to diecast hunting...
I'm really into Asain girls, [it's an addiction] so when I go into a Target or Wally World or store and I see one [I'm easily distracted] .I usually never find anything good!
Guess I'd never find anything in japan or China!:jest:

Owl, on one of those really good days, maybe you should also try one of the JL scratch and win game pieces. Just one. You just never know, LOL.
Thanks for sharing your story.

Cheers. Cobra
