Before my G5 died last week (and yes, I have a new computer now), I was able to shoot some pictures of two older kits I painted about 7-10 years ago. Although I don't feel like they are executed as well as some of my newer kits, I still like these two, and was eager to take new pics of them for some newly inlaid lightboxes on their respective pages. If I could go back and paint these kits again, I'd probably do things a lot differently, but I was only a couple years into monster model mania at that point. I was still working on my dry-brushing technique. Michael Myers should have been Dull Coated (I used a Flat Lustre...duh, what did I know?). The Munsters Living Room could have been dirtied up more. Ah, well. You learn from every model you build. Click for more pics:

I think I've visited your site before and it is always good to take a look around. You did a great job on both these kits, particularly the Munsters, as I really don't care much for Michael Myers, not into hack and slash horror, but I can still appreciate a good build. The detailing on the Munsters is perfect. I have one or two of those and when I see a build like yours it makes me think that might be the next project. Again, great job on both kits.

Thanks gentlemen! I remember the Munsters kit as taking forever to build/paint. It's alot of parts. I remember I had a helluva time getting Herman's wooden chair sandwiched between the metal supports. I don't remember why it wouldn't fit right. Grandpa and Herman's faces were spot-on likenesses of their TV counterparts, but sadly Eddie and Lily were not done very well. Lily seemed disproportionate to the other characters. Eddie's head is way too big, and his facial detailing was not good. I also remember I had to mix a lot of colors for this kit.

As for Michael Myers, I'm not a big slasher movie fan either. I prefer "monster" movies, but for me in Halloween, Michael Myers was a bit of a monster, beings that his character was kind of supernatural (you couldn't kill him). He was a really nice kit to build. His parts fit very well. In retrospect, I probably should have weathered up the porch some.

Great job! Don't apologize for your abilities from the past. Maybe you can do better now. I think we all can do better now, then a few years ago. Like I said, you did a great job. Photography:thumbsup: Lighting:thumbsup: Painting:thumbsup:

My condolences on the loss of your G5.
Well, I bought it used for $200, and it lasted 2 years. I definitely got my money's worth out of it. I used it alot. It was a very noisy computer. The fan use to spin really loud. Sounded like it was going to take off through the roof. I'm glad it's gone. I like my MacMini very much. And everything is wireless now, so that's really cool too.
