Soma International started out in 1967, as a distribution company based in Hong Kong to market other companies products, including toy cars.

In 1984, they issued a diecast series called "Super Wheel". This was a (2) pack of cars made by Tintoys with their 'WT' prefixed number.

In the late 1980s, they offered Welly castings and other brands under the same label of "Super Wheel". One of these sources was the precursor to the Realtoys castings line up. They also issued a series of castings with 'light and sound' features. One example - the Porsche 928 - was offered in several different emergency vehicle dress and also had the Soma brand name on their bases.

In 1997, Soma began their own production runs in China and labeled their brand "Mighty Wheels". This first series was made up of monster trucks with oversized wheels.

An association with Universal is noted, but not described.
