I wasn't the only one who wondered about the size of the new Moebius Models Spider-Man next to Polar Lights's upscaled repop of the Aurora Spidey. I happened to dig up my PL kit tonight so I snapped a quick photo. Both are billed as 1/8 scale, but plainly the Moebius kit is substantially bigger.

...which is why I thought it was 1/6 when I opened the box!

The Moebius Spidey is not as big as my 1/6 scale kits, but it's bigger than the Aurora monsters. He might be about the same size as the PL Phantom of the Opera, which struck me as a little large. I'd buy 1/7 scale for Spidey.

I dug out my 1/6 scale Horizon Spidey. I still think it's a little bigger than the Moebius kit, but not much. So I'm sticking with a guess of 1/7 scale for the Moebius kit.

What strikes me more is how favorably the Moebius kit compares with the Horizon. It really is a very nice plastic kit.

Please forgive the photo quality, I shot them in a hurry.

Thanks for the suggestions, all.
I envisioned my shaky hands holding a fine-tipped brush dipped ever so carefully in flat black acrylic... then sneezing. :drunk:
