The release of Shelby collectibles?... man, they seem to come out and disappear really quickly

Just curios about the wheels they used on the low end, small carded ones that I think went straight to Dollar Trees?
I have this one I changed the wheels on, the bodies seemed pretty accurate but remember the wheels and the stance being not good.

Dug this one out, think I will adjust the width of where the tires fir, so they are not sticking out of the wheel wells so much.

I liked the Shelby Collectibles as well..
At the time they were only available at Walmart stores...
... Shelby collectibles..... my thoughts at the time was how many could they make? I felt numbers were going to be limited.
So I pretty much collected them all..

I think you are right about the blue cobra. I will have to check them again. At first I thought they were the same but later on I noticed the early issues had the rubber tires. This latter (?) card version is no longer 1:64 scale with plastic wheels. I think the rear wheel set is also slightly smaller than the front on this casting.

I remember finding the early ones at K-Mart - they were always at the end of the toy aisle away from the other diecast for some reason. I know I bought quite a few of them in the day but then those were the days when I was buying most everything on the pegs from any and all brands. 😎
