Does any one have any programs for keeping track of set-ups. I have a old laptop don't care about getting dusty be great for storing these and using at track. It has windows 98 and that is all it will support. so new programs may not be useful. If I can't go back to my notes at track then might not help.
Also thinking of building scales from 4 food scales. Any one tapped into the electronics of one of those to display on a bigger screen or comunicate with a laptop. If we had a electronics expert in this group I might trade him for aluminum setup pad if could get the scale situation figured out.
I think they can be built less than the $1000 price tags have seen in the past.

Already been done my friend. Take a look at these scales:

http://www.1-4scale.com/

He has laser guide alignment tool and scales. $875.
I got a set of go-Kart scales for about the same price. I'll have to get the website for you latter.

Intercomp has a set of scales for about $1,000 with a real noce setup:

Another place is Rebco for about $900:

I have several forms to keep track of setup on your car. Please see my site @

Under GLQSR Documnets.

There are several helpful documents and setup sheets. It take a little time to download, but well worth it...

you can get a set of scales off of ebay 35 lb scales work great and the scales only cost around a $100 bucks for four of them.and you can weigh the hole car on one of them so you can get the car to race weight.and with alittle math you can figure you percentages out

Yep, on ebay the scales are priced right but the shipping & handling charges are out of this world.

If anyone has a good link to scales on ebay with decent shipping charges please post it.

scales

Thank you for the links I knew of some but not all. I think if a guy does some of the stuff hisself a set of scales can be made with a cross weight display and percents. For way less than 1000 seen food scales for 30 -45 a piece I am trying to find someone with the electronics background to find the feed for the display and say send it to a db25 breakout board so you can put it into a printer port of PC. The technology has been out for years on these scales. The components to construct your own got to be more affordable than almost the price of our base cars. I don't care about a CERTIFIED scale I just want to know where the wieght is going as I make suspension changes.

I agree that they can be made for less than what most are sell ing for. We have a set of kart scales that were about a grand. The bad part is the ones on ebay will give you the same result for alot less money. Only difference is you have to do your own math. I think if you could make a set of scales for a reasonable price it would be great for people. This can help people out alot. I dont think most people even know about scaling a car. hope you figure something out.

I did what Ultrarace suggested. got some off ebay few years ago.

didn't cost much. i think they max out at 35 or 40 pounds. its big enough to check the cars total weight. and have 3 more for a scale on each
corner.

 like he said alittle math is all you need.

just be careful using scales . you can dial yourself out real quick if you
go by scales only.
