Does anyone have any tips for searching on ebay. I usually search by the series i.e."johnny lightning mopar or no car" but I always seem to get limited results. Maybe this is the best way to search and theres just not that many JL's on the bay.

"Mopar or no car" is also not a great "key word" I use it if there's room, but more than likely you'd find the cars under plymouth or dodge.

I jsut ran a quick search using "johnny mopar" and got 72 hits. Using "Johnny Dodge" I got 196 and 112 using "Johnny Plymouth" Granted not all of these are from that series, but if you know what cars you're looking for.....

wanna know how i search the bay?

olds

thats it, all i search for, if i want to narrow it down more, i'll throw in another word like

olds johnny
olds jl
olds insanity
olds greenlight
olds gl
olds 67
olds 1967

etc... etc... if the search is still to broad for what i'm looking for, i'll throw in another word...

If alot of stuff is comming up i don't care about, like slot cars if i search for "olds aurora" i get alot of the "Aurora" slot cars and not the "Olds Aurora" so i'll do a...

olds aurora -slot

Just gotta play with it...

Also, make sure you are only searching in the toy section... every now and then you'll stumble on something elsewhere, but for the most part, all JL's would be in the toy section

Also, dont use "" quotes, and remember, people abbreviate stuff, so Mopar or no car might be listed as "MONC" (which has other meanings too)

Plus, don't forget to check the "search titles and descriptions"

And another thing, Ebay's search system will not show a result for "Oldsmobile" when I search for "Olds". So i'll also soemties comb throw my "olds" search, and then redo the search using "Oldsmobile" and get even more results.

Hope there soemhtign in this essay that can help you find what you want

Many times due to space limitations the series is omitted or abbreviated. Some sellers will use MONC. If you are looking for complete sets, search using the word set. If you are looking for specific castings, search for them that way.

type of car is best way, not many people will list the casting #

just search for coronet, or coronet johnny, or coronet mopar, or coronet MONC etc...
