Scottoy was founded in 1993 by Antonio Pezzini and Jonathan Scott. They were located in Genoa, Italy.

Originally, they wanted to make replacement parts for obsolete Italian car models, instead they revived the retired Mercury Line of 1:66 diecast models. Most of the reproduced models were of 1950s and 1960 Italian makes. They also made (2) American models - the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible and the 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II. These were closer in length to 4" but said to be 1:64 scale size by Scottoy. The quality and casting detail on all their models were excellent.

They were distributed World Wide by Mini Miniera and also available by mail order from Lilliput in Nevada.
