Im curious too...our car got teched pretty hard. They measured dang near everything.. We managed to get lap times with the leaders in practice this morning and the asked to check it again. QSAC pulled carbs and plates on the 3 in every class.

There were a bad set of plates about a year ago, if not a little bit longer. Mike had put out a statement and told everyone to check his or her plates. I still to this day check everyone before I send them out. It seems the supplier failed to have in place any quality control measures and some were slightly over sized. Not by much, but as written in the rules if the No – go goes in, your DQed.

Although you may have purchased a restrictor plate from a supplier and it was manufactured for QSAC, it is still up to the individual to ensure their plate is legal. I have the gauges here if anyone would like to have theirs checked when they come here.

From what I am hearing it doesn’t sound like any motors were torn down at this race either ? I would of put money Jeff would have had them all torn down and apart.

I do find it funny how the rulebook is being toss aside on a lot of things. I have had 5 people tell me things from 4 different states that attended the race in Al. They were all very pleased with how well everyone in the club was there to support and help out. They were very displeased with the direction they were given. Why do you have plates that are anodized if know one will check them ? I fine that very odd. And why take the time to make a rule book on a NCS format if your not willing to follow it ? 12 cars in a B main or it was a C main ? I got it all from other people. But when more than one person tells me a story and it is the same. I do put some credibility to it. I found it very strange how both Co-Chair could be at those races, and the national tech director and it was ran the way it was. I cannot wait until August ! No motor tear down. Wow And no way to check to ensure the racer who signed up were a member or not ? 12 cars in a main, ? wow what rule book !

As for jumping on someone for saying they are displeased on how things were done. I find it childish. He and myself are QSAC members. And it is out right to question anything we may feel is wrong. I try to stay true to the rulebook as it is written. It is very dishearten to find those who are suppose to enforce the book fail to do so time and time again. From the calls I receive and those who come here to race voice their opinions to me while we talk, they refuse to say them publicly because of the childish behavior of others. They will attack me for saying it . Who cares if the truth hurts and if those who say something do not like it then they need to ensure they do not make the SAME mistakes again and again. This last year and half has been a flipping joke. Again I cannot wait until August. Lets get QSAC back on a direction for all to enjoy. A rulebook should be just that a book for all to follow. Not just a guideline to change when the mood strikes.

All QSAC members are or should be aware we had a QC issue with the plates and QSAC has taken steps to address the problem. Including making it right with the effected members.
Manufacture made an error, the closer the tolerance on a machined part the more expensive it is to produce. Considering what we pay for the plate, im sure no one wants to buy a 30 dollar plate. As far as the first NCS race, you really had to be there to understand why the decisions that were made were what they were. QSAC officials were elected to make such decisions.
We found an oversize 8.5 plate at LPR and 2 at Lakeside all 3 in the limited class. We inspected the plates to see if they had been tampered with to be made oversized, and in all 3 cases they were not. Since this is a part mandated and required by QSAC. And must be checked with a specialized tool
it has been our decision not to penalize the racer for a mistake by the manufacture who built them, they all now are sold and checked through QSAC. The plates still being found to be oversized are taken and destroyed and replaced at no charge to the racer, in cost or penalty. Tony and myself feel thats the fair thing to do. Its not a case of throwing the rule book aside.
As for motor tear downs i can only speak for the race i attended at LPR. We made that decision because of rain and the high humidity. First there was no obvious standouts and second tearing down a motor in those conditions would have exposed the internal parts of the motor to rusting unless it was immediately put back together after teardown.
As for NCS format, it states clearly that it is a guide line for running the races, if mother nature which QSAC has no control over plays a part. Then the director can and may do what is needed to get the race in and completed. Rain has played a part at both events this year.

bad plates, caution called on last lap after 1st and 2nd passed finish line and 3rd and 4th battling for position on front straight. I agree with spanky though.
So technically and unoficially I get first but or second but officially I'm 4th and by the computer I'm 3rd. So beats me.

Honestly QSAC had the problem, knew they had the problem, announced they had a problem, yet left it up to the drivers to worry about instead of taking care of it prerace time and mandating plate checks. Then make a statement at drivers meeting don't stand behind what was said and just go on. So why did I pay 20 bucks for qsac for?

I just think its funny. in limited randy, ken, and johnny ran good my car was tight so it is what it is.

Is it your opion that the race was decided by the plates found to be oversized? You paid 20 dollars for a single event membership so insurance would be valid. and to my knowledge with speaking to Tony only 2 people came to have thier plates checked and they were from the sportsman race.
