Rovex Plastics Ltd was founded in 1946 by Alexander Gregory Vanetzian. He had made toys for Marks & Spencer previously. Venetzian was asked to develop an electric toy train set for Christmas 1950. He developed the train as requested, but although Rovex had found a larger site in a former brewery in Richmond, it was financially unable to produced it.

Lines Bros who were looking to get into model railways purchased Rovex.

To provide for even more expansion Lines Bros moved the company now known as Rovex Scale Models Ltd to a brand new factory in 1954 to Margate, Kent.

An association to any specific diecast model vehicles is not noted.
