That is what a "state of the art" dune buggy looked like back around that time. I wish somebody would do a Champion "Spark Bug" from the early '70's, those were so cool and got a lot of people interested in the Baja 500 and 1000 races and off road racing in general. I was really happy to see the HW Meyer's Manx when it first came out, and the first Bad Mudder, the Offtrack and the Toyota Baja are all excellent. The "Dune It Up" is pretty good update in 1/64 for dune buggy technology. HW does have some pretty decent coverage of the off road racing scene. Can't help but hope for a few others though, like a modern Hummer offroader or the stripped down Freightliner semi that was campaigned some years back. As much as the Baja Bug is a staple and an icon, it would be cool to see some more realistic baja bugs made. Maybe even a dirtbike or two in Baja 500 dress. The Dakar Rally stuff is cool too!
