RE: Marine Boy P1

A thread on here lists 1960's TV shows and I noticed MarineBoy wasn't on there, so I added a YouTube link to an episode.

My question is, did anyone ever produce a kit of the ship/sub from that show? It's called the P1, and has a Speed Racer kinda look and style to it. Anyone have a clue? Just curious.

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Scorp.

I would suggest yahoo Japan auctions. However, you will have to use a proxy service to do your bidding, unless you live in Japan. The service I used quite a bit is Celga. Another is Rinkya. www.rinkya.com has a nice search feature, but alas, Marine Boy does not come up. You can request they add a link though. I did for Speed Racer, and bought a number of very rare and Japan only items.

Here is a kit using the search term "Imai" on Rinkya, then choosing Imai hobby and culture: http://www.rinkya.com/new/en/auction-125229491

Good luck on your quest! Finding an item like this can be very rewarding!

I still wish someone would do a garage kit of this but it is an obscure subject. The larger Imai kit needs some herculean effort to alter the giant wheel housings and openings--meanwhile the smaller kit is much more accurate, BUT it doesn't come with any clear parts and it would be a bear to manufacture clear parts that match the curvature of the hull.
