So i am lost here. I have a rc8be with a mamba monster 2200kv setup. The gearing is 15 46. I was running 2 newer (always balanced charged) Trak power 5600mah 60C packs on the street. After about 5 min i stopped and both packs were puffed. The motor temp was 150F and the esc was not hot.
I checked the lipo's cell voltages battery 1 had cell voltage of 3.93 and 3.94 and the other lipo had cell voltage of 3.97 and 3.98.

With the temp being around 150 i thought i was good. was i under geared?

thanks for any help here, Joe

Were you using alot of brake or braking alot with running on the street???

Using the Brakes alot or hard on brakes can create heat as well.

150* isn't anything for an Escale buggy, most of the motor systems are good up to 180-190* and then if you consistantly hit 180-190* then there might be issues to worry about.

I have the same battery in my LOSI 8ight and running a 2000kv tekin and my gearing is 16/47 for large outdoor oval, and 14/47 off-road. My first run with the pack it swelled a tiny bit. I got well over 50 cycles on the pack now and is still the same. I personally think the cells are a bit large for the hard case that's all.
