Question on scale of this Mercedes

1153 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  karl s

Picked this up this weekend. On chassis it says 1937 Mercedes Benz 540, copyright 1979, but it gives no indication of scale. It seems closest to 1:43 but not quite. Anyone have any idea what the true scale is for this model?

It is listed as 1:45 scale.

See the link below.

O scale or 1:43 scale figures aren't to bad with the Mercedes.

Hey, thanks Guys!
And thanks for that link to the Matchbox site. I have been looking for a site like that but hadn't succeeded in finding one up until now. I am bookmarking this one.

I had another Matchbox site with pitures of Matchbox catalogs, but I can't find it.
Matchbox Catalogues

Try this link to www.mbxforum.com this seems to show all of the catalogues issued from 1957 to 2010 in all the languages. Many catalogues can be "opened up" to see every page in it.

Thanks Craig!
My wheelbase is 75 mm and wiki say the 1:1 is 3290 mm so that is exactly 1:44 scale!
