I spent most of the Summer solving this. PTO would not stay engaged. It dropped out after warming up. Tried everything.

Turns out the battery was only putting out 10.22 volts instead of 12V.

New battery made the difference. Works perfectly, now - and I adjusted the air gap, checked the ohms in its coil and replaced a worn out drive belt while the PTO was off.:thumbsup:

You may also want to check the alternator output on your engine to make sure it's recharging the battery. The alternator should put out enough current to maintain PTO clutch engagement regardless of the battery condition.
