I'm new around here as well as to collecting those little joys from my childhood. I really like the detail of the Johnny lightning cars but what is this thing calle white lightning? What differentiates them?

the only stupid question is the one not asked.
white lightnings are a chase version of the regular production johnny lightnings and usually account for approx 1% production run.
white lightning traits vary and usually consist of 2 base product changes, usually because some have only 1 and others have 3.
here are the possible variaitions, produced in almost any combination theroeof:

Another very useful site for Johnny Lightning collectors is jlcollector.net
It is THE Johnny Lightning "Bible". It was developed by Hobby Talk's very own Wyatt Davis (Wyatt). The site is for referencing regular Johnny Lightning castings, although for many of the castings, Wyatt identifies the White Lightning traits of the castings in a particular release. Spend some time at the site - it's easy to navigate and you will learn much about these little metal treasures! Have fun with the hobby!!
