i got this poulan weedeater hedge trimmer ght-22 18cc its got good spark, tested 90 pounds when i put it to a compression tester, cleaned out the carb, cleaned the muffler, put in new gaskets, but it just starts and dies when i try to start it, also the piston and cylinder is good, ring is good, i dont want to throw it away but im tired of pulling the recoil rope, can someone please help me, i will appeciate any help, thanks guys in advance.

I would guess that the carb needs to be thoughtly cleaned and maybe rebuilt. Could also be in need if new fuel lines and filter.

Compression is OK at 90psi. If you put fuel directly into the carb and it starts, means the engine will run but it has a fuel delivery problem.

thanks hankster but what is wrong if the feul is not being delivered, fuel lines kinked or do i have them hooked up wrong. ill liik into this when i can thanks guys.

Could be a dirty carb, cracked fuel lines, filter... or hooked up wrong.
