Possible New Herbie Variation?

We've seen two versions of Herbie so far (stock, and rusted from "Herbie Goes Bananas"). Could this be the third?

I'd buy it!

The new movie is "Herbie: Fully Loaded"

I am sure some of the customizers on here can remake that car now :)
That we can, but I'd love to see it come from Playing Mantis officially.

As for the custom, wheels from a NASCAR stocker and a custom made spoiler would do the trick, along with a few racing decals. ;) If I had a spare Herbie I might give it a try.
Swifty, didn't you get to watch the BUSCH race? They had this versioln of Herbie running at the tail end of the field before the start of the race. Bennie said they were filming for a new movie.

Nope, I was working yesterday night. :( But the screencaps are (courtesy Jayski!) are of last night's race.

Looks cool, doesn't it? This movie, and the computer animated "Cars" look pretty good to me- I plan on watching each of them when they come out.

Sounds about right. The little 1600 cc engine would be in the back of the field in a Nascar race..lol
Seen them on TV Friday during Nascar qualifications, looks like the new movie will be arriving soon?

Ummm, maybe 1300cc on a VW of that era...
(It would still be at the back..)

You have to admit.. The little car looks tough!

According to what I just Googled, it looks like this is NOT the next installment in the series of Herbie movies, but rather a remake/adaptation of the original. Interesting. And the main characters (okay, the HUMAN ones) are Matt Dillon and Lindsay Lohan, and Michael Keaton is getting involved too. Hmmm. Between this and Johnny Depp playing Willy Wonka, there's some interesting remakes of kids' movies in the works...

if they are updating it as a re-make, doubt it would be a 1300 or a 1600.. they would probably just do it fantasy like and make Herbie beat out all the v-8, v-16's or what ever! ..or in reality, those motors get upp-ed to like 2000 to 3000, isn't it? (at least thats what we were doing way back in the 80's when I was playin with the little air-cooled beats!)

...also, anything different about the car except for the tires and wing? don't know if anyone would bother to remake a die-cast model just for that...
The Door stripes are wrong. Looks terrible. I guess they had to do something a bit different.

This is my wife and I in an original movie car from "Herbie goes Bananas". They used around 20 VW's for each movie. This was the Herbie that comes out of the water and shakes. So it's known as the "Shaking Herbie". Mid America Motorwerks in Effingham, IL own him, and another herbie known as the "Spinning Herbie" from the same movie.
