Hello all,
Thought I'd show off my police helijet from "Thunderbirds".
OK, I know there never was a police helijet from the show (at least not this kind, there was a small police bird of some sorts) but I decided to put a little twist on the studio scale bird and make something different. All the parts are screen accurate. All I did was do a fictional take on an already cool subject, made a cool interior that the anderson guys would not have bothered with as it would not be visible, and some cool spotlights on the bottom to help flush out the bad guys.

Red explosion proof light in the interior, little holding cell and gun cabinet that can barely be made out in the pics plus some other doo-dads that can only be seen in person.

Here she is lit up...

Hope you guys and gals like her,

Beautiful! Ah, if only the Hawk 'Husky' kit was cheap and plentiful, as it was back in the day!

I agree, to be a 'real' studio model there would be weathering at the exhausts and the 'Police Gumball' light would likely be larger and more obvious (likely a common 'hand torch' bulb dipped in translucent red, or blue) but heck, this is so nice and pretty.

I wish there were plastic kits of some of the common 'Anderson World' vehicles like the Helijet, those big beast machines with the tank tread front gear and big treads (and sometimes wheels I think) in back (OK, digging into my Complete Thunderbirds, like the Explosives truck in 'End of the Road', OK?), but I guess the kit of the Fireflash that Aoshima made didn't sell as well as hoped. Me, I think the problem there was it wasn't in a standard Airliner scale which would have opened up all kinds of fun potential. Making it in 1/350 meant it only 'worked' with the Aoshima (viz. Imai) Thunderbird 2 kit.

blah blah blah. Nice build! Make more. :)

I like this idea. It's immediately recognizable even though that particluar variation was never seen in the series. It always made me wonder why in that setting, everyone else had them, but were stuck with just the plain old 4-wheeled variety.

Nicely done!
