Beta testing at it's finest!

I ran into a couple of snags trying to make a payment last week, minor inconveinence. The transaction processed after a couple of tries.

Didn't ebay do something like this three or four years ago when they did an upgrade and had to revert back to the previous version? :freak:

Sometimes it's not that easy...it may not have been a coding issue...could've been database, or communication gateway problems or a myriad of other things....but it's easier to tell the press and non-IT folks that it was a "computer" error, rather than getting into all the wonderful complexities of multi-tiered computer systems.

If it were simply a coding issue, you are right, typically the best course of action is to backout the offending change rather than try to fix-forward and really screw things up.

Interesting read. I can't believe they can't revert back to the coding used before the update that allegedly caused the problem. Sounds like someone dropped the ball on the contingency plan, eh?

No PayPal access

It is unfortunate that PayPal doesn't have competition.

At a time like this, reliability would be a strong selling-point!
