I love technology as much as the next guy, and I know we need to do more regarding the worldwide oil supply issue and the envoirnment as well....

but I still just can't get excited about gas/electric hybrid cars.
that is some interesting reading. they had the right idea right off the start it seems. i wonder if any of those first ones are surviving today?
Check this link out, it was also located within the above article.

Watch the video, it is very informative!

The 235 hybrid buses that will operate in the Seattle area are expected to save 750,000 gallons of fuel per year over the buses they will replace. Over the 12-year life cycle of the vehicles, the total savings is expected to be 8 million gallons of fuel. If America's nine largest cities replaced their transit fleets—totaling 13,000 buses—with GM's hybrid buses, GM states the cities would save 40 million gallons of fuel each year—a greater savings than 500,000 small hybrid vehicles
thats the kind of stuff that makes the oil companys spend money to stop from happening. now couple all those busses with 500,000 hybred cars and that would be making an effect,,,,,,,
Arnolds pushing for it here in California and just yesterday, I heard on the radio that in 10 years Hybred cars will be about half of the total amount of cars out here- Atleast thats what they are aiming for. Honestly, I don't think I want one- I'd rather have the Air car that don't need any roads :D Protos of those are still around a million plus- last i heard. With an Air car could you imagine not needing a boat to fish anymore :) Man, the deer wouldn't stand a chance either!
