Hey guys..................
I have a curious question if ya don't mind.
Why does DeForest Kelly (Dr. McCoy) wear a pinky ring??? Just curious.

Personal preferences? I imagine he liked the ring - seriously. I don't think it has anything to do with the character of McCoy, as I'm pretty sure that I've seen shots of Mr. Kelley wearing that same pinky ring at different events when not in character.

It was his mother's. (De Kelley's...not Doc McCoy's)

Actually, I remember De Kelley explaining it once at a convention that it is his wedding ring. He always wore it (even outside of the show). He was a devoted husband and this was his way to continue to express his love for his wife. The fact that it is on the pinky finger allowed him to continue to wear it without people thinking his character(s) were married. I believe he said his wife wore one as well.
