Since I am new to this hobby I just have mostly older hotwheels not on the cards. I notice most of the pics posted are still on cards. Does being off the cards detract a lot of the value?

If you are concerned about reselling them, then removing them from the cards will reduce their value. If you aren't concerned about reselling them, and you want to enjoy them loose and display them that way, then opening them adds to their value. :D

Of course taking out the Hotwheels from there card is decreasing their value.... First of all Dust gets on them and Second of all the person buying it dosn't know whats been done to it outside the box.

I've opened cards that were bent to display the car, and found the the car had a defect that you couldn't see while still in the blister.

It's still mint if (MOMC or MONMC) it's still carded, even if there is a defect that you won't see unless you open it.
