Where can I go to get some kind of history on a car that is from the early 70's?
We are getting a fixer-upper for FREE,but I just would like to know a little more about it,in anyw way I can.....
Its all original,351 Cleveland,interior and floors are all in GREAT shape,just missing hood,and surface rust that is easily fixed..

Depending on the car, you can probably search for a national car club (I used to be in the Cougar Car Club of America, for example). Most of these sites have some sort of VIN registry you can use.

Go to the loveFords website and ask the administrator for some help. John Rotella is a great source for info on all Ford products.

Finding info on your exact car is extremely hard if it is pre 1981 (less than 17 characters in the VIN) nobody keeps records on them too much. If it is a Pontiac, you can go to the Pontiac Historical Service and they will send you all the info as to original options, build date, shipped to where, etc. DOn't know if others have this or not
