1) Did you make any at the beginning of '06?Yes, Yes I did.
2) What were they?Overcome the horror of the previous two years, start a cab service with an eye toward building it to the point that monetary worries would cease to exist, and be a better husband. Also to quit smoking.
3) Did any stick? My wife likes me better, otherwise, I'd have to say NO!
4) Which ones are you making this New Years? A new start in New Mexico, try to find enlightenment, and also to quit smoking.
5) What chances are you giving yourself to keep them? I'm very optimistic about the first two, as for smoking? Less than zero, unless I die.

Hey Squirrelyman,never say never.

my smoking cons:

35 years of addicted smoking (started at 10 and never looked back)

35 years of smelling like burnt dung, dipped in rat puke.

10+ years of smoking outside (not by choice {thanks a lot, you bastards})

10+ years of listening to whiney non-smokers,or over-piused ex-smokers

35 years of getting exponentially raped by government taxation, dedicated specifically to cigarette smokers.

35 years of paying escalating prices of cigarettes.

15 years of pulminologists, doctors, medications, rapidly declining health, puking on treadmills, with full hospital gear apparatus', breathing chambers and breathing tests.

25 years of a nasty cigarette hack, epoxy hard dried lung cookies everywhere.

2 years of attempts to quit smoking,ie:hypnosis, patches, nicotine gum, etc.

my non-smoking pro's:
never adding another thing to my "con" list
reversing all adversities

my 3 most important tips

when your mind is truly made up,you will be able to do it.

1.set a stop date
2.find alternate ways to deal with stress
3.three days after quitting, spontaneous, cravings will still appear. They soon disappear ,if you concentrate on something else for 60 seconds...

I'm creeping up on 7 months without tobacco.
Rule number 3. subsides, just remember to use your 60 seconds of mental diversion,if a craving pops outta nowhere.

4) Which ones are you making this New Years? The same ones and to quit smoking and get in better health
5) What chances are you giving yourself to keep them? 90% chance, I have to do something to lose all this weight and get healthy.
I want to lose 75lbs and kick the cigarette habit.

Its alot easier to to things if your in good health.

I don't really make "New Years resolutions", when I decide to stop something, I stop. I've been 11 years without a drink, I've been 8 1/2 years without a cigarette, but neither was tied to New Years day. Last year, we had a "Biggest Loser" contest at work, and that did start in early January. I gave up soda, and dropped over 40 lbs. I've put a little of that back, and they're starting another contest next week, so I guess I'll throw my $20 into the hat. I'd like to see below 200 again, I haven't been there since I gave up drinking.

To be less forgetful
3) Did any stick?
Umm, did what stick?
4) Which ones are you making this New Years?
To be even more handsome than I was last year
To be more modest

5) What chances are you giving yourself to keep them?
Judging by my mirror, the first is impossible
As for the second, I will quietly sit in the corner and nod agreeingly when other people post how wonderful I am

Chances are, I'll simply forget what I resolved to do different, and think it's just last year continued :drunk:

HAVE A HAPPY (AND SAFE!!!) NEW YEARS, EVERYONE
