17 years old.. The first real date was to the Junior Prom and I asked for the keys to my dads "very" used 65 Chrysler Newport Town Sedan... I don't recall if it was a 318 or a 383, but it was fairly fast.. as long as you didn't take any speed into a turn..
All we had back then was an AM radio.. but after about 7PM every night , there would be a huge boost in the signal from WLS out of Chicago so it could be heard in southern Minnesota.. They had a great DJ named John Records Landecker" Good times .. "checking the crops" after the prom with my first date and dialing in WLS.. HUGE seats .. no center console .. The Mid-60s Chryslers would sure make a great diecast..

I was seventeen and took this girl out scoopin' the loop. My dad had bought me a 1969 Mercury Marauder. That was a sweet car it was a 2 door hard top with a big 390 in it. I had dual exhaust put on it with glass packs. The exhaust dumped out the sides just before the rear tires. It was a cruisin' boat that had the get up and go it needed. I hope JL would make this car some day.

I was 16 and took my dads then-new '86 Lincoln Town Car.. maroon with maroon leather and matching padded top...moonroof, power everything. I also later drove it to my junior and senior proms.

My high school car at the time was an '84 Ford Escort diesel, but for my 17th birthday I got an '87 Mustang GT...

1983. 16 yrs old and I'd been saving my money for a couple years. I got a deal {$1200.00} at an estate sale for a 66 Impala SS convertible and I believe it had the 427 if I remember right. Wasn't real quick but it was faster than heck. Unbelievable smoke shows. I'd go thru a set of new radials in about 8 holeshots due to the posi. The day after my 16th b-day, I took my girlfriend, Nikki, out to a drive in for a double feature. No idea what the movies were as we spent the evening "inspecting" the rear seating accomodations, if you get my drift.
I sold the car 2 years later and always regretted it. That ride was a tail-getter. Girls just always loved being able to put the top down, I think it gave them ideas subconciously, lol.

Geez, I don't even remember who my first "real" date was with, it was such a long time ago. I was a bit of a tramp, and any girl that wanted to take advntage of me was more than welcome to, but I wasn't dating them. I would guess my first actual date was in my then new 1981 Bronco. Probably went to a drive-in movie.
For my first date with my wife, I borrowed my Dad's brand new 1987 Lincoln. After I'd drawn her into my web, I switched back to my Scrambler. :dude: Now that we have the boys, we don't go out together in that Jeep much anymore, but over the years we've been on many trips and adventures in that old toy.

'67 Plymouth Fury Sportman III. Oh baby was that a cruzer. Chicks did love that car. Then progressed to a '74 plymouth Duster. What I'd give for either of those cars today.....**Sigh,the late '70's were very cool**

Mary says that she sleeps so much 'cause you always seem better in her dreams, John

My very first date was just after high school (1973), I was seventeen, in my Dad's (soon to be mine!) '69 Impala 2 dr hardtop. Gail Mandoni. The girl was built back then. Went to the movies, I believe, and then did a little late-night "off road" tree inspecting :p (man, those seats were as big as couches back then!!!). We dated about a year, and then she dumped me for what I had considered a very good friend. This would not be the only time this would happen to me.

Mine was in my 1991 Ranger, that later got totalled and I turned into a General Lee pickup. When I had my first date in it it was still normal looking dk. blue, though.

1968 Chevelle 300 2 door with post coupe. Ash Gold with matching interior, 307 V8, and Rally Wheels which I added along with dual exhaust. That car served as my daily driver from 1982-1991. Should never have sold it!

Wow - guess I'll have to break the string and go import. My dad was the VP of sales and service for Saab back in the early 80's & a die hard gearhead. He always got the go fast stuff & this particiular weekend he let me borrow a car he was trying out - it was a new (83) Saab 900 with a super charger & some other funky stuff on it - it was shipped in from Sweden with the stuff, not yet available in the states. Got busted 2 miles from the movies doing 84 in a 55 (down from 109). Needless to say, the rest of the night didn't go so well.
