Kewel lookin' figure! I recently saw "Things To Come" on the DVD "Tales From The Future" that had a guy who looked a lot like that. Is this the same character from the same movie?

Yes, it's Raymond Massey as John Cabal, the oh-so-wise-and-benevolent leader of Wings Over the World, landing his plane in the ruined Everytown of 1970 and wearing a giant radio tube on his head.

That is one WAY COOL sculpt! Good likeness of Raymond Massey, and it looks like you really nailed the uniform!

Now, what about his single-seat airplane? You can find plans for it here:

My prayers have been answered!

How did you manage to obtain plans for the streamlined battle tank and the giant flying wing? Or are you just eyeballing them from screencaps of the movie?

Are you at all familiar with the Gyrocopter (autogyro) kit currently being sold by Monsters in Motion?

I've though about getting it but I'm a bit put off by the price. Do you know if it's any good?

Excellent choice in subject matter. Love this film despite the socialist leanings. Thank H.G. for that. Great job on the figure. Also, I always really liked Ralph Richardson in this. I keep looking at the screen and saying, "50 years from now, you will slay a dragon."

The autogyro is done by a friend of mine,Herb Deeks Models. In my opinon, its about 85% there, but being a prefectionist,I'd like to get it closer to 100%.It is a very good model.I am getting all my information from the movie, since there is supriseing very little on the making of this great Sci-fi Classic.I would love to see a pristine Criterion edition with the entire 116 min. film with bonus material, but I dont think that will ever happen.Next up the tank is all ready in the works.Alexander

Check out WallyWorld, Dave! I found the DVD set I mention above - "Tales From The Future" - there for something like $5. It was either there or thru Amazon.com, but am pretty certain it was at the local Wal-Mart in the discount DVD bin. It has, I believe, 3 discs and a total of 9 movies. Most of them are pretty bad C-Movies, but a few classics are on it, like "Things to Come" and "Metropolis".
