So we were out last night, and I stopped at one of my Maisto stops. This time, hidden among the Bburagos was a nice Mustang GT. Cars of this scale and larger are why I'm giving up on Hot Wheels and Matchbox. These just look so much better.

Now some of these, I've posted pics of before. Like my '55 Olds 88 Convertible. this is the actual die-cast my grandpa used as a refernce to finish his car just before he passed away.

It's Newray. this and the Caddy are the most detailed of my forty-threes as far as the molds are concerned, but not many of the details are painted. Unlike my Bburago's, which are less highly detailed, but have more paint and decals to trim them up with.

Next up is my '59 Cadillac Series 62. Also NewRay, got it at the same time as the Olds.

These next ones are Bburago, and cost a bit less. I don't pick up every one I see, I just grab the ones I like. (For example, I'll not likely pick up their blue Hummer. It just doesn't appeal to me.)

First up, how about a Cooper Mini?

There is a real weight difference between the two brands. You can definitely tell one has a plastic undercarriage and the other metal.

And finally, the whole reason for this thread: My newest Mustang GT.

This is the first of my Bburago's to both be really cool and yet disappointing. The wing glass in front of the mirrors is painted silver, just like the mirrors, and the fronf bumper sticks out away from the body a bit on the ends. It almost looks like it doesn't belong on that particular car.

So, I don't yet own a lot of forty-threes, but I aim to fix that problem. I know Newray had a corvette I wanted to get, maybe it will still be at the store onc eI go back by next month.

I get them at various Dollar General stores. They are usually in the vicinity (but not right next to) of the Hot Wheels and Matchbox. The same place I get the Maisto Fresh Metals I occasionally pick up.
