I'm eagerly awaiting Malibu International's new series of TV and movie cars in 1/24, 1/64, and 1/87. After seeing the Tommy Boy GTX, Dazed and Confused '70 GTO, and (groan) Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, I figured they were probably on to something. I think this is something Motormax should investigate, especially since an inspired selection of subjects could be used in other series. My suggestions (in 1/24, 1/64, 1/87, but particularly in 1/24):

Kojak '74 Century (also can be used in Fresh Cherries)
Starsky & Hutch '76 Torino (again in Fresh Cherries)
Seven Ups '73 Grand Ville (Fresh Cherries & Hi Risers)
Evil Dead '73 Delta 88 (Fresh Cherries & Hi Risers)
GO, Due South '72 Riviera (Fresh Cherries, Hi Risers, Low Rider)
Used Cars '73 Centurion conv. (Fresh Cherries, Hi Risers, Low Rider)
Taxi, Taxi Driver '75 Checker Cab (regular series, custom imprinted)
Junkman '80 Eldorado (Fresh Cherries)
Junkman '77 T-Bird, '78 Magnum XE (Fresh Cherries)
The French Connection '70 Continental MK III (regular series, Low Rider)
That '70s Show '69 VISTA CRUISER (enough said)

Any other suggestions?

I can see many of those as a FC but not in a license. With costs rising and an additional fee it would be really hard to stay under the magical 2.00 price point.

At the very least, they could paint and detail the cars to match the movie cars (with the exception of the S & H Torino). It'll be interesting to see how Malibu makes out with their series. Personally, I think it's a winner.

Dear All:

ERTL announced but never delivered the Ford Station Wagon which starred on 'National Lampoon's Vacation'. For me the model of it is overdue, because it been used in many films and TV shows and some do appear on today's tv commercials. And yes,I know,Micro Machines did one which appears on a Set.

The Vista Cruiser was a central carachter on the '70's Show.It was on the opening credits in almost all seasons, except the last one,and it appears at the final scene of the last episode.Another one begging to be done.

The 1974 Buick Century already done by Corgi Jr.
The 1976 Ford Torino Starksy & Hutch also by Corgi Jr.
1972 Buick Riviera done by JL, and in a bizarre and cheap HotWheels casting
The Checker taxi cab done by Matchbox recently
The 1977 Ford Thunderbird recentl done by MotorMax American Graffiti
The 1970 Continental Mk III done by Hot wheels redline and mini Lindy
:drunk:

Please suggest more cars that NEVER was done by some diecast brand

I am aware these cars have been previously rendered in 1/64 scale by other companies, but NEVER in 1/24 and 1/87. I personally want to see these in 1/24, and, as 1/87 seems to be the next big thing, it's only natural these cars should be done in that scale.

I'll second what Madmanmark is saying, all of the above mentioned cars would be very welcome in 1/87 scale in multiple colors.

It doesn't seem to work. The address is www.malibuinternationaltoys.com, but hitting it seems to send you out to left field.
I tried the web address on the box of an 1/87 scale car and the results were left feild.
I would like to see a 56,and 57 Chevy to go along with the 55 as well as a 1959 Impala.
At 1/87 scale these cars are HO rail roading scale, and Model Power sells them under there name for use on model rail roads, at about double the price.

Dear All:

Since the Matador Coupe from the Fresh Cherries is out, that can be done as a 'flying car',similar to the one from the Bond movie 'Man with the Golden Gun'.

I know,Corgi Jr. did it and nowadays it fetches good prices, but their car is of generic nature (or so it seems based in the photos I saw).
