Minialuxe was based in Oyonnax, France. This is the region known as the 'Plastics Valley' of southeast France.

They were a French precision plastic model company who made cars in ~1:43 scale in a style similar to Cursor or early Brumm models. Their first plastic 1:43 cars were made in 1953.

They were most active in the 1960s and 1970s and went out of business in 1978.

In 2013, though the Minialuxe brand was revived by Marc Faujanet. He was the owner of Passion 43rd. This was a magazine specializing in 1:43 model cars. Faujanet had signed a 20 year license agreement, in March of 2012, to produce scale models for collectors in diecast metal and plastic in 1:18, 1:43, and 1:66 scale. Their production was based in China.

A series of 1:66 scale diecast models by Minialuxe was introduced in 2016.
